As the global impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to be felt around the world, we are continually monitoring and adapting to the changing situation.In all we do, the health and safety of our people, customers, and the greater community is our first priority.

With the easing of restrictions, and the dedication of our team on the ground in Asia,we have resumed production at our facilities in China. With this development, all eleven Southco global manufacturing facilities are presently in operation.We have implemented measures across all locations to ensure the safety of our people, and to minimize the risk of supply disruption. These measures include:

Establishing across-functional,executive management incident response team to monitor and respond to ongoing developments with respect to COVID-19
Restricting all travel to high risk countries and restricting non-essential local travel
Creating social distancing through remote working where possible
Training and emphasis on effective hygiene practices
Employee health monitoring
Enhanced environmental cleaning procedures
Establishing strict limitations for visitors to our facilities

We continue to look to the recommendations of health authorities, including the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the World Health Organization (WHO)as well as all local health and safety regulators to determine the best health and safety practices.

While production continues, we anticipate that worldwide travel restrictions,as well as backlog in the supply chain will continue to increase some delivery times for the foreseeable future. Our customer service teams are working diligently to provide any impacted customers with timely updates.

SDPSI Named 2019 Honoree of Top Shop by Modern Machine Shop

August 2, 2019 – Hicksville, NY – Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument (SDP/SI), a division of Designatronics, a leader in providing mechanical based engineering, and precision manufacturing services has been named one of four Honors Program winners in association with Modern Machine Shop magazine’s ninth annual Top Shops benchmarking survey.

The Modern Machine Shop (published by Gardner Business Media, Cincinnati, Ohio) annual survey enables owners and managers of U.S. computer numerical control (CNC) machine shops opportunity to compare their operations’ performance and practices against industry leaders. The survey is split into four key sections: machining technology, shop floor practices, business strategies and human resources. An Honors Program winner is selected for each of these categories, and SDP/SI, manufacturer of precision gears, machined parts, custom mechanical components and assemblies, was named 2019 Honors Program winner for human resources.
